How We're Celebrating our 175th Birthday!
DID YOU KNOW?
George Williams was only 22 when he founded the YMCA in London, England! 175 Years later, the Y is now in 119 countries and still empowering young people to become the next generation of confident and engaged global citizens.
To celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Y, Y's from around the world will come together in London to participate in YMCA175. This global youth event will have elements of a conference, summit and celebration, that will be a living embodiment of the YMCA: bringing together thousands of young leaders and YMCA senior leaders and networks from around the world.
The YMCA of Central Ohio has chosen four young people to accompany senior staff to London to represent us and the work we are doing in our community every day. The four that have been chosen have been active participants in YMCA programs such as Leaders Club, Youth in Government and YMCA Community Corps.
Since announcing to staff that we will be sending these four amazing young people to London, we have been getting questions about how they can help with the trip. We decided the best way to help is to give, as a way to donate travel supplies and any additional expenses that may arise while visiting abroad- and we wanted to extend this invitation to members and the community!
100% of all donations will go directly towards this endeavor. Thank you in advance for making sure that these young people have everything they need for an impactful experience in London.
